Okay, here’s proof that 60 really is the new 30! I recently had the joy of catering a surprise 60th birthday party for one of the most inspiring couples I’ve ever met, Linda Hsueh and Alan Salz. Both are not only accomplished physicians but also embody a youthful zest for life as avid hikers, bicyclists, and winter sports enthusiasts. This vitality is perfectly complemented by their healthy diet and a relentlessly positive mindset. Fresh off a trip to Madagascar, Linda and Alan were delighted by a thoughtful surprise orchestrated by their children.
Given their love for the outdoors, I opted for a theme that mirrors their passions. The decor featured bicyclist sculptures and a palette of rich autumn colors, reflecting their vibrant personalities.
Linda and Alan’s journey began in college, where they attended medical school and completed their internships and residencies together. Today, Alan runs his own ophthalmology practice, while Linda is a partner at the Summit Medical Group. Interestingly, I've heard Linda is also an exceptional cook.
They’ve shared most of life’s milestones, including their birthdays, each enhancing the other's qualities simply by being together. According to their son David, Linda and Alan are exceptionally charitable and thoughtful qualities any child would be proud to emulate.
When planning this event, Sarah, their daughter, emphasized the importance of accommodating family members with food allergies to dairy and gluten. This was crucial in crafting a menu that was both inclusive and delicious, ensuring no guest was left out. Every dish was clearly labeled to keep everyone informed and safe.
